IS THIS A PAID SERVICE?

Yes – this is a service from IRA for which you have to pay. The cost will be arrived at after considering several factors like package you choose, the location, the total number of records, the number of Adjudicators required, and the number of days to complete the process. In addition to this, the organizers of the event will have to bear the expenses for the travel and accommodation of the adjudicator/s. The normal cost is around Rs.50,000.00 and will depend on the number of record attempts, number of days travel, stay etc. The final cost will be worked out on receipt of your application.

IS IT NECESSARY TO SUBMIT THE EVIDENCE EVEN THOUGH THE ADJUDICATOR IS AVAILABLE, ACCORDING TO THE RECORD BREAKER’S PACK?

The answer to this is “No”, in spite of this there are a few exceptions when only the presence of the Adjudicator is not sufficient to verify the Record Attempt. For example, as regards marathon events, maintaining a logbook is mandatory. The Adjudicator will verify the logbook on his arrival. This is required as the Adjudicator will not be present throughout the event. The additional supporting documentary evidence like logbooks, marathon logbook, visitor’s logbook etc. has to be submitted to the IRA officials when demanded, as this is mandatory.

WILL ALL THE ADJUDICATORS CARRY THEIR OWN MEASURING INSTRUMENTS?

The answer is “Yes”, all Adjudicators will have their own measuring instruments in most instances. Notwithstanding, there are some cases where weight-related records involving heavy weights, for which the organizers themselves have to make arrangements to provide suitable weighing instruments.
